6. PRE-OPERATION CHECKS

BFT115A/150A is 4-stroke, water
cooled outboard motor which uses
unleaded regular gasoline for fuel. It
also requires the engine oil. Check
the following before operating the
outboard motor.
Perform the following
pre-operation checks with the
engine stopped.
Before each use, look around and
underneath the engine for signs of oil
or gasoline leaks.

Engine Cover Removal/Installation

ENGINE COVER
ENGINE COVER LATCH
• To remove, pull the engine cover
latch and lift the engine cover
straight up.
• To install, place the engine cover
on the outboard motor, and push
down evenly.
When reinstalling the covers, make
sure not to jam the wire harnesses
in between the covers and engine
case.
Do not operate the outboard motor
without the engine cover.
Exposed moving parts can cause
injury.
