Before using for the first time

Before using the machine for the first
time, ensure that it is correctly
installed and connected. See
"Installation and connection".
This washing machine has
completed a comprehensive
functional test. A small quantity of
water remains in the drum as a result.
For safety reasons, spinning is not
possible until the machine has been
prepared for using for the first time. To
activate the spinning function, you must
run a wash programme without laundry
and without detergent.
Using detergent could result in an
excessive build-up of foam.
This also activates the ball valve. The
ball valve prevents detergent escaping
from the suds container into the sump
during a wash programme, thus making
maximum use of the detergent.
^ Press the K button.
If the washing machine is being
switched on for the first time, the
welcome screen will appear.
The welcome screen will appear in
the display every time the washing
machine is switched on until a
programme lasting longer than
1 hour has been completed.

Setting the language
You will be asked to select the
language you require for the display. It
is possible to change the language at
any time via the Settings menu.

^ Press the Spin speed button (W) or
Delay start (V) until the language you
require appears in the display.
^ Press the Temperature (OK) button
to confirm your selection.
Reminder to remove transit bars
To avoid the risk of damage, the
transit bars must be removed before
the machine is used for the first time.
See "Installation and connection" for
instructions on how to do this.
^ After removing the transport bars (if
this has not already been done by
your fitter), press the Temperature
(OK) button.
Running your first programme
The Cottons r programme is
automatically selected. Use this
programme when first operating the
washing machine and do not put
laundry in the drum.
^ Open the tap.
^ Press the Start/Stop button.
^ At the end of the programme switch
the machine off.
The machine is now ready for use.
