Component Buttons
MUTE Mutes or unmutes the TV audio. The VOL and MUTE button commands
are transmitted in the format of either the TV or audio receiver (whichever one
you were controlling before you switched to your current mode).
OK For some components, selects highlighted items in the on-screen menus and
guides.
ON•OFF In a given mode (VCR, DVD, TV, SAT•CABLE, AUX), it turns the
component on and off. When pressed twice within two seconds, all components
that are on are turned off (this feature only works with most RCA, GE, and
Proscan products).
PIP Brings up (or clears) a second "picture-in-picture" on some twin-tuner TVs.
RECENT Returns you to the previous screen or channel.
REVERSE, PLAY, FORWARD, RECORD, STOP, PAUSE Provides transport control
for some remote-controllable VCRs, as well as for some RCA, GE and Proscan
DVD players.
VCR, TV, DVD, MSNTV, AUX, SAT•CABLE These buttons tell your remote
control which device to operate. For example, to start playing a DVD, you would
press DVD, then press the PLAY button. These buttons are pre-programmed to
work with most GE, RCA or PROSCAN components. You will need to program
them to work with other brands.
VOL > and VOL < Adjusts the volume level of your TV or audio receiver (if the
remote has been programmed to control your TV or audio receiver). You can
control the volume of either your TV or audio receiver (whichever one you were
controlling before you switched to your current mode) when in TV, DVD or VCR
mode. You can also mute your TV or audio receiver in TV, DVD or VCR mode.
