The starting point of video
signal compression, set in
order to prevent
overexposed highlights by
keeping the subject's high-
brightness area signal
within the dynamic range
of your camcorder.
[AUTO] To automatically
set the knee point.
[HIGH] To set a relatively
high knee point.
[MIDDLE] To set an
average knee point.
[LOW] To set a relatively
low knee point.
[OFF] Normal setting
[STRETCH] To improve
γ -curve characteristics in
dark areas to enhance
gradation in those areas.
[COMPRESS] To controls
γ -curve characteristics to
produce solid black.

setting is capable of
extremely precise
description of the entire
exposure zone from
shadowed parts to
highlighted parts, which
enables reproduction of a
deeper black.

[OFF] Normal setting

[ON] Colors similar to
COLOR]
film camera images. This
is effective when used
with [CINEMATONE
GAMMA]
This is also effective for
black and white recording
with [COLOR LEVEL]
set to [-8]. In this case, the
brightness level of a color
image will vary.
