HOLD SWITCH
Inspection
Inspection of operation -/
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF-+ON.
2. Verify that the HOLD indicator is not illuminated. Depress
the switch and verify that the HOLD indicator comes ON.
3. If not as specified, check the terminal voltage of the hold
switch.

Inspection of continuity
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Check continuity between terminals E and F.
Inspection of voltage
1. Remove the rear console.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Check the voltage between terminals A and B.
Terminal voltage Switch
Approx. 12V Released
Below 1.5V Depressed
4. If not correct, go to the next step.

3. If not correct, replace the selector lever knob as an as-
sem bly.
Replacement
1. Remove the rear console.
2. Disconnect the connector.
3. Remove the selector lever knob.
4. Install a new selector lever knob.
5. Install the rear console.
INHIBITOR SWITCH
Inspection
Inspection of operation
1. Verify that the starter operates with the ignition switch at
START position and the selector lever in P and N ranges
only.
2. Verify that the back-up lights illuminate when shifted to R
range with the ignition switch in ON position.
3. Check the inhibitor switch if not as specified.
