C a u t i o n :
Before removing the cover be sure to disconnect the
power cable, or damage may result to the radio or inter.-
face kit.
1 . R e m o v e t h e e i g h t s c r e w s s e c u r i n g t h e t r a n s c e i v e r ' s
u p p e r c o v e r , u s i n g a # 2 p h i l l i p s h e a d s c r e w d r i v e r . a n d
remove the top cover.
2. Remove the four screws that secure the sDeaker
m o u n t i n g b r a c k e t t o t h e c h a s s i s a n d s w i n g t h a b r a c k e t
u p t o w a r d s t h e A T ( a n t e n n a t u n e r ) u n i t . B e e s p e c i a l l y
carefui of the wiring harness. Don.t stretch the cable
na rness.
3. Next remove the four screws that secure the shield
c o v e r i n g D i g i t a l A u n i t . S w i n g t h e c o v e r t o t h e s i d e .
A g a i n b e c a r e f u l o f t h e w i r i n g h a r n e s s .
4 . P l a c e t h e i n t e r f a c e u n i t o n t h e h e x a g o n a l b o s s o n t h e
Digitai A unit, and secure it with the screws provided
with the interface kit.
5 . C o n n e c t t h e c o n n e c t o r o n D i g i t a l A u n i t t o t h e i n t e t f a c e
u n i t a s s h o w n i n F i g . 4 - 6 .
6 . I n s t a l l t h e e x p a n s i o n E p R O M ( E r a s a b l e a n d p r o g r a m _
m a b l e R e a d O n l y M e m o r y ) i n t o t h e v a c a n t s o c k e t o n
t h e d i g i t a l u n i t . O r i e n t a t i o n o f t h i s c o m p o n e n t i s c r i t i c a l
for proper operation of the radio, and interface.
