To enable an external headset

You can adjust the timeout of the LCD backlight on your phone. You can specify a
value between 0 (None) to 255 seconds.
Press the Menu key.

Select User Settings.

Select LCD Backlight Timeout.
The default backlight timeout, in seconds, for your system is shown. To change the
timeout, press the Delete Soft Key and use the telephone keypad to enter new backlight
timeout.

Press Enter on the cursor pad or the OK Soft Key to accept the setting.
You can also press the Cancel Soft Key to exit without making any changes.
Setting the Backlight Timeout to 0 (zero) disables the timeout, and the LCD
Note:
Backlight will remain lit at all times.
There is no connector for a headset on the ITL-2E phones.

Connect the headset to the phone:
Insert the headset cord plug into the HEADSET connector on the back of the phone,
