Description

Solaris OS Shutdown processing would end
normally, but the status displayed by the
showplatform command would remain
"Solaris running."
6746677
According to the IPMI PET warning and SNMP
trap warning settings in the warning rule
settings, warning message creation may not be
possible depending on the event type,
irrespective of the warning level. All generated
events can be confirmed with show
/SP/logs/event/list or showlogs.
6718696
The memory segment information output from
the prtdiag command is incorrect for some
memory configurations. In particular, the
interleave factor, bank size and component
modules columns might contain in correct
information. The number of segments also might
be incorrect. Unfortunately, there is no way to
determine if the information is or is not correct.
6725254
If a CMP module is disabled using one of the
following commands (see below) and if this
CMP module is physically removed from the
system, on subsequent power-on the disabled
CMP modules will appear in the OpenBoot list
of disabled devices. This might prevent
automatic boot to Solaris.
sc> disablecomponent asr-key
-> set /SYS/component
component_state=disabled

In the Browser Interface, the System
Monitoring -> Power Management page
contains two sets of information. One set
contains information about the current power
being used and the maximum available, while
the other section contains pull-down menus and
text input boxes for configuring power
management settings. The information in the
section about the current power usage is correct
but the SPARC Enterprise T5440 server does not
support the configuration of the power
management settings.

Workaround
After cutting off the power to the host, wait at
least three minutes before supplying power to it
again.
See
"The System May Fail to Stop When a Host
Power-Off Instruction Is Executed from ILOM,
and the ILOM Command May Fail to Be
Executed (6740756)" on page
None.
See
"According to the IPMI PET Warning and
SNMP Trap Warning Settings in the Warning
Rule Settings, Warning Message Creation May
Not Be Possible Depending on the Event Type
(CR 6746677)" on page
38.
Use the showfru and showcomponent
commands to obtain FB-DIMM information,
such as the list of DIMMs present in the system,
which might be erroneously reported by the
prtdiag command.
This problem can be avoided by enabling all of
the disabled CMP modules before physically
removing them. The automatic boot problem can
be worked around by setting the OpenBoot
variable auto-boot-on-error? to TRUE at
the ok prompt:
ok setenv auto-boot-on-error? TRUE
Ignore, and do not attempt to modify, the
configuration information on the System
Monitoring -> Power Management tab.
Attempts to modify those settings will result in
an error window.
