Installing your Matrox CompressHD card

The Matrox CompressHD card is a low-profile, half-length PCIe x1 card
designed to operate in a PCIe slot in your computer. For detailed instructions on
how to perform the following steps, refer to your computer's documentation.
Shut down your system, unplug the power cord and all the cables from the

unit, and open your computer's chassis.
Insert the Matrox CompressHD card in an available PCIe slot in your

computer, and secure the card into place.

Close your computer's chassis, and reconnect the power cord and all the

cables to the unit.

Installing Matrox Mtx.utils

Matrox Mtx.utils installs the CompressHD device drivers, and all the software
required to use your CompressHD card. This includes Matrox presets for using
Adobe Media Encoder to export material to various formats with the Matrox
MAX H.264 codec. The Matrox Video for Windows (VFW) software codecs are
also installed so that you can play back Matrox .avi files on your CompressHD
system.
¡ Important Before installing Matrox Mtx.utils, make sure that you have Adobe
Media Encoder installed on your computer. Adobe Media Encoder is included
with many Adobe programs, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and
Encore.
You can install Matrox Mtx.utils on a computer with or without the CompressHD
card installed. To download and install the latest version of Matrox Mtx.utils,
visit the CompressHD Support section of our website at
www.matrox.com/video/support. You can also contact your CompressHD dealer
for the latest software.
¦ Note
Matrox Mtx.utils Setup installs software for CompressHD as well as
Matrox products that can be used with CompressHD, such as Matrox MXO2. If
you have only the CompressHD card, you won't be able to use software intended
for use with other Matrox products, such as Matrox A/V Tools and the Matrox
WYSIWYG plug-ins. For details on using Mtx.utils software with another
Matrox product, refer to your Matrox documentation for that product.
