First Time Setup Procedure
When a new controller is first powered on, the screen will display the first time setup message. The
Smart Controller is designed to simplify the setup and installation process by making some default
recommendations during the initial setup. These default settings are designed to be appropriate for
most common installations.

Range Procedure
When a new controller is first turned on, the
screen displays FIRST TIME SETUP. Press

the DOWN ARROW button.
Serial Number
The screen displays the serial number for
this Smart Controller. Press the DOWN AR-
ROW button.
NOTE If this unit will be installed

with a modem, it is
required that this electronic
ID number be reported to
Culligan on the IQR form.
Firmware Version
The screen displays the firmware version
and date installed for this GBE Controller.
Press the DOWN ARROW button.

Set Month
The screen displays the month setting. Press
the DOWN ARROW button to accept this
information and view the day setting.
Jan–Dec
To change the month setting, press the
CHECK MARK button. The screen displays

a cursor (>) symbol next to the displayed
value.
Press the UP ARROW button. The screen
displays the next value (here, changing Jan-

uary to February).
Press the CHECK MARK button. The con-
troller accepts the value and displays the

Day setting.
