Chapter 2. NAS administrator's installation checklist

Task
Confirm that worksheets are completed.

h Adapter configuration worksheet

Verify that your SAN storage is pre-configured. See the Attention notice at the beginning of

Verify that the WebSM Client workstation
h
meets minimum requirements and that it is
connected to the network.
Confirm that all cables are connected. If
h
clustering, verify that the cables in Feature
1001 are connected.
Power on the NAS Gateway 500.
h
Enter the IP address that is displayed on the
h
display panel on the front of the NAS Gateway
500 into a Web browser that is executing on
the managing console.
Accept the software license agreement.
h
Install the Web-based System Manager
h
Remote Client, if required.
Install Subsystem Device Driver (SDD), if
h
required.
Log in to NAS Gateway 500.
h User ID (root)
h Password (password)
Select optional features.
h
If Remote Mirroring:
1. h Initialize the remote node.
2. h Configure Remote Mirroring from local
site 25.
Set date and time.
h
Define root user and set password.
h
Create NAS Gateway 500 administrators and
h
set passwords.
Create file access users
h
Select Directory Services.
