Installing or replacing the front USB assembly

This section provides instructions on how to install or replace the front USB assembly.
Note: The front USB assembly is only available in some models.

Installing the front USB assembly

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Safety information" on page 1.
To install the front USB assembly, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 159.
3. Remove the front bezel. See "Removing and reinstalling the front bezel" on page 160

5. The package of the new front USB assembly contains a front USB board, a metal bracket, and two
screws. Install the front USB board into the metal bracket and then install the two screws to secure
the front USB board to the bracket.
