3.7.2.1

Connecting SCSI cables

Ê Shut down the server.
Ê You can assign up to four
68-pin SCSI ports on your backup subsystem (see
subsystem" on page
assigned in the correct order.
Setting the SCSI ID
Set the SCSI ID (bus address) using the jumpers of the installed backup device.
The SCSI IDs must be unique (assigned only once in the SCSI string) and are
freely selectable from SCSI ID 0 to SCSI ID 6 (SCSI ID 7 is always used by the
host adapter).

The defaut setting is for
"point to point" SCSI-ID 6 and for
"daisy chain" for drive 1 or 3 SCSI-ID 5 and for drive 2 and 4 SCSI-ID 6.
Point to point
For the "point to point" configuration, the connectors on the rear side and the
drives on the front are connected as follows:

Connector A - Drive 1

Connector B - Drive 2

Connector C - Drive 3

Connector D - Drive 4

Daisy chain
For the "daisy chain" configuration, the connectors on the rear side and the
drives on the front are connected as follows:
