Chapter 60: IPv6 Interface Commands

An IPv6 address can either be manually configured or dynamically generated. You
may also need to a establish an IPv6 default gateway between this device and
management stations that exist on another network segment. Both IP Version 4 and
Version 6 addresses can be defined and used simultaneously to access the switch.

Interface Address Configuration and Utilities
ipv6 enable Enables IPv6 on an interface that has not been configured with an
explicit IPv6 address
ipv6 general-prefix Defines an IPv6 general prefix for the network address segment
show ipv6 Displays all configured IPv6 general prefixes

ipv6 address Configures an IPv6 global unicast address with an option to use an
IPv6 general prefix, and enables IPv6 on an interface
ipv6 address Enables automatic configuration of IPv6 global unicast addresses
autoconfig on an interface and enables IPv6 on the interface
ipv6 address eui-64 Configures an IPv6 global unicast address for an interface using an
EUI-64 interface ID in the low order 64 bits, and enables IPv6 on the
interface
ipv6 address Configures an IPv6 link-local address for an interface and enables
link-local IPv6 on the interface
show ipv6 interface Displays the usability and configured settings for IPv6 interfaces
ipv6 default-gateway Sets an IPv6 default gateway for traffic
show ipv6 Displays the current IPv6 default gateway

ipv6 nd dad attempts Configures the number of consecutive neighbor solicitation
messages sent on an interface during duplicate address detection
ipv6 nd ns interval Configures the interval between IPv6 neighbor solicitation
retransmissions on an interface
show ipv6 neighbors Displays information in the IPv6 neighbor discovery cache
clear ipv6 neighbors Deletes all dynamic entries in the IPv6 neighbor discovery cache
