The control key does not generate any code
when pressed, but it allows some of the keys to
generate nonprintable function characters. When
CTRL is pressed, inappropriate keys (mostly
those having upper case characters) are locked
The SHIFT key causes all the ASCII keys to
generate their associated upper case characters.
LINE FEED Key
The line feed key causes the paper to advance
vertically. The carriage does not return to the left
margin (see RETURN).
The RETURN key generates a carriage return
character. The type unit returns to the left margin
but the paper does not advance vertically. The
RETURN key should be used with the LINE
FEED key to advance the paper vertically.
