4.Clean both filter elements if they are to be reused.
Foam element:
Clean in warm soapy water, rinse and allow to dry thoroughly, or
clean with a high flash point solvent and allow to dry.
Dip the element in clean engine oil and squeeze out all the excess oil.
Excess oil will restrict air flow through the foam element and may
cause the exhaust to smoke when the engine starts.
Clean
Paper element:
Tap the filter element several times to remove dirt or blow
compressed air not exceeding 30 psi (207 kPa, 2.1 kgf/cm
the filter from the clean side that faces the engine. Never try to brush
off dirt; brushing will force dirt into the fibers.
5.Install the foam element onto the paper element.
