3-2-4 CMOS sensor

The image sensors of camcorders can roughly be divided into CMOS (complementary metal oxide
semiconductor) and CCD (charge coupled device).
The table below compares the major features of CMOS and CCD sensors:
Item
Smears (when a subject with vehicle headlight,
etc. is shot, a vertical light band will occur above
and below the light source)
Output signal
Focusing rapidly moving subject
Pixel data readout speed
Miscellaneous
*6: The CMOS sensor in DZ-BD7HA/BD70A outputs digital signals. Some CMOS sensors in other products
may output analog signals.
