• You can only set ten or less VLANs to a LAN port.
• For Windows Server 2003, configure maximum four VLANs that enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in
the entire system.

■ Creating a VLAN

Follow the steps below to create a VLAN.

Log on to the Server Blade with administrator privileges.

Set the port of the Switch Blade connected to each LAN port or the port of an
external switching hub, so that a VLAN tag frame can be transferred.

Click [Start] – [Settings] – [Control Panel] – [Intel

Select a LAN adapter to set up a VLAN and right-click it.
A VLAN cannot be set to an adapter composing a team.

Click [Add VLAN].

Specify [ID] and [Name]. Then click [OK].
The [ID] should be identical with the switch setting. The allowable range is 1 to 4094.
The [Name] does not need to be identical with the switch setting.
When the confirmation message appears, select [Yes].

Repeat Steps 4 through 6 to set respective VLANs.

Click [OK] to exit Intel
When configuring a VLAN is completed, a virtual adapter "Intel(R) Advanced Network Services
Virtual Adapter" will appear.
Upper protocols will be bound with this virtual adapter.
You cannot bind them with the LAN card consisting a team.
The IP address should be specified in this virtual adapter.
