Air Cleaner Element Replacement
In dusty areas, the element should be replaced more
frequently than the recommended interval.
After riding through rain or on muddy roads, the element
should be replaced immediately.
If dirt or dust is allowed to pass through into the
throttle assy, the throttle may become stuck, possi-
bly causing an accident.
If dirt gets through into the engine, excessive en-
gine wear and possibly engine damage will occur.

Lift up the fuel tank, and clamp the fuel tank by wood.

Install a new element [A].
Use only the recommended air cleaner element
(Kawasaki part number 11013-0010). Using another
air cleaner element will wear the engine prema-
turely or lower the engine performance.
Be sure to install the fuel tank drain hose.
Fuel Hose Replacement
Remove the fuel tank (see Fuel Tank Removal in the Fuel
System (DFI) chapter).
Be sure to place a piece of cloth [A] around the fuel hose
Push [B] the joint lock claws [C].
