Adjusting the sensitivity obtained near the water level (SHORT STC)

The video obtained immediately after signal transmission has been
started will have a red tail, because the surface-layer water usually is
very dirty. To improve such video quality, the sensitivity obtained near
the water level (about one meter in water depth) must be adjusted
properly using the "SHORT STC" function of the menu.
Specify the "SHORT STC" correction value as follows:
Display the FISH FINDER SETTING menu by pressing the
and
keys together.
Move control to "INITIAL SETTING" by pressing the
key, and display the INITIAL SETTING submenu by pressing the
key.
Move control to "CALIBRATION" by pressing the
and display the CALIBRATION submenu by pressing the

and display the SHORT STC submenu by pressing the
Select either "HI" (high frequency) or "LO" (low frequency) by

Specify the short STC level by pressing the
Example: "0" means no correction. A higher correction value
reduces the sensitivity obtained at a water depth of about one
meter.
Press the
key to return to the INITIAL SETTING submenu.

Use the STC control (semi-fixed type) on the operations panel to
adjust the STC level. See page 14 for details.
Specify the appropriate value in "STC MODE" to activate the STC
function in a deeper range. See page 48 for further details.
Outline of the procedure: Proceed from the FISH FINDER
SETTING menu to "STC MODE" (50 to 200 m).
