If you select [Off]:
Press [OK].
The selected mode is set.

Setting the Standard Density

This function enables you to set the standard density of the Fax Basic Features screen in
advance when you frequently scan originals that are either too dark or too light to see clearly.
NOTE
• The resolution (fineness of the image) remains unchanged when you change the density.
• Set the resolution according to the complexity and detail of the original. For example, if you are sending
a magazine article in a small, densely spaced type and/or photographs, set the resolution to 'Fine',
'Super Fine', or 'Ultra Fine', and if you are sending a document with large type only, set it to 'Standard'.

• The default setting is in the middle on a scale of 1 to 9.
