4 - A d j u s t i n g pivoting seats*
Pull lever up at side of the seat and turn
seat.
It might be necessary to push the seat for-
ward slightly or open the doors before turn-
ing the seats.
Warning
Before
rotating
the
driver's
seat the handbrake must first be
released. T h e vehicle must there-
fore be prevented f r o m rolling by
some o t h e r m e t h o d (e.g. gear en-
gaged).
Before rotating the front pass-
enger seat the handbrake must
first be e n g a g e d or the vehicle
must be prevented f r o m rolling
by s o m e other method (e.g. gear
engaged).
When the vehicle is m o v i n g the
seats must be f a c i n g f o r w a r d and
properly s e c u r e d .

A d j u s t i n g armrests*
The armrests on the front seats can be
hinged up if they are not required.
The angle of the armrests can be adjusted
as required with a knurled knob, underneath
the armrest.

A d j u s t i n g backrest
Take weight off backrest and turn knob.
Warning
Do not have the backrest set too
far
b a c k whilst the
vehicle
is
m o v i n g because the
seat belts
are t h e n no longer fully effective.

The procedure for opening the drinks holder
on the passenger side and what should be
noted w h e n doing so is detailed on page 104.

H e a d r e s t r a i n t s
The front and rear* head restraints are ad-
justable for height and should be set to suit
the size of the person in the seat. Correctly
adjusted head restraints, together
with
properly worn seat belts, offer
effective
protection.
Adjusting height
Grip sides of head restraint with both
hands and pull up or push down.
The best protection is obtained w h e n the
upper edge of restraint is at least at eye
level.
Removing and installing
To remove, pull restraints up to the stop,
press button in direction of the arrow and at
the same time take restraints out.
To install again, push the restraint rods into
the guides until they are heard to engage.
Note
On some models, head restraints are fitted
which differ from the version illustrated and
can be removed and installed as described
below.
Spring clip version
To remove the spring clips from the seat
backrest guide rings, pull or push the clip
out to one side with a small screwdriver.
When reinstalling, insert the head restraint
first, and then push the spring clips in so
that the straight leg is at the rear.
