2. Symptom-based Troubleshooting

Overview

Symptom
1 Equipment does not operate.
2 Indoor fan operates, but compressor does not
operate.
3 Cooling/heating operation starts but stops
immediately.
4 After unit shuts down, it cannot be restarted for a
while.
5 Equipment operates but does not provide
cooling.
6 Equipment operates but does not provide
heating.
7 Equipment discharges white mist.
8 Equipment produces loud noise or vibration.
9 Equipment discharges dust.
10 Remote controller LCD displays "88".
11 Indoor swing flap does not operate.
12 Equipment emits odor.
13 Flap operates when power is turned on.
14 Change of operation mode causes flap to move. It is normal. There is a control function that
15 Fan operates in "M" tap during heating even if
remote controller is set to "L" tap.
16 Flap automatically moves during cooling.
17 Indoor unit fan operates in "L" tap for 1 minute in
"program dry" mode even if compressor is not
operating.
18 Indoor unit fan operates after heating operation
stops.
19 Drain pump operates when equipment is not
operating.
20 Horizontal swing sends air to different directions
in cooling and heating even if it is set to the same
position.
21 Flap remains horizontal even if it is set to swing
mode.
22 When operating in remote control thermostat, the
thermostat turns off before temperature of
remote control reaches the set temperature.

Room smell and cigarette odors accumulated
inside the indoor unit are discharged with air.
Inside of the indoor unit must be cleaned.
