OPERATION
o
Th.e
top
dead centre sensor senses the
top
dead centre on compression stroke of the No. 1 and No. 4
cylinders. converts it into a pulse signal and inputs it to the engine
control
unit, which then
corputes
the
fuel injection
sequence. etc. based
on the input
signal.

Power to the
top
dead centre sensor is supplied
froh
the control relay and
is
grounded to the body. The
top dead
centre.s-ensor generates
a
pulse signal as
it
repeatedly connects anä disconnects Uetweän
Sli
voltage supplied from the engine controt unit and earth.
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
Hint
1:
lf
the
top
dead centre sensor does not
function correctly, correct
sequential injection is not made so
that the engine may stall. run irregularly at idle or fail
to
accelerate normally.

2:
lf the
sensot
o.utputs
a
pulse signal when
the
ignition switch is turned

running). a faulty

dead centre sensor
or

is suspected.
