Route data comm cables away from areas of high static electric fields
created by power transformers and heavy foot traffic. Use shielded data
comm cables that meet approved industrial standards to reduce the effects
of external fields.
For the XP disk array, you need:

Track XP "phone home" feature, if you plan to
use it. An HP representative will configure
Continuous Track XP during installation. For
more information on Continuous Track XP, see
the HP StorageWorks XP12000 Disk Array
Owner's Guide.
Needed to connect the XP12000 to an available
Ethernet port on your public LAN. To ensure
network security, consult with an HP
representative and your network administrator
before selecting the appropriate location of
your LAN drop.
Needed to allow your staff and HP
representatives to communicate inside and
outside your site.
