Emperon is the controller architecture that gives
this printer its mighty performance.
The printer's DDR SDRAM processes data

Type

The magicolor 2450 uses an easy-to-access Emperon controller with 128
MB DDR SDRAM on board. This next-generation controller technology for
KONICA MINOLTA laser printers and MFPs is designed to process and
deliver pages quickly and seamlessly. Emperon provides:
Compatibility with the most popular printing languages—
PostScript and PCL
Compatibility with multiple operating environments, including
Windows, Macintosh and Linux
Multi-protocol print serving with TCP/IP, EtherTalk, NetWare, and
NetBIOS/NetBEUI support
Excellent color quality with precise color matching and halftone
screening delivers best-in-class 9600 x 600 dpi class resolution

Processor

The magicolor 2450 uses 300 MHz PowerPC CPU for document
imaging.

Printer Memory

Standard RAM: 128 MB
Maximum RAM: 640 MB
The magicolor 2450 uses industry-standard 100-pin, unbuffered dual-data-
rate (DDR) SDRAM modules that effectively double data throughput and
consume less energy. 266 MHz, PC-2100 modules can be used.
With its 128 MB RAM, the magicolor 2450 has sufficient memory to print
on all page sizes in all available print resolutions in simplex mode. With an
automatic duplex option installed, a minimum of 256 MB RAM is required
to print in High Quality mode.
