Brilliant, Consistent Color
The innovative color technology built into the magicolor 2450 produces
outstanding image quality. Through a combination of contone print
resolution, KONICA MINOLTA's own polymerized toner formula, and
automatic color controls, the magicolor 2450 delivers excellent,
accurate, consistent color for business reports, sales materials,
correspondence, photographs, and more.
9600 x 600 dpi-class
To generate photo-quality output with great detail and character in fine
lines and halftones, the magicolor 2450 offers 600 dpi (High Quality)
resolution, also called 9600 x 600 dpi-class Photo ART contone quality.
Through a process called multi-bit or contone halftoning, the printer is
able to achieve very high levels of grayscale (color levels or shades). It
produces four bits or 16 levels of gray per pixel for sharper prints and
smoother gradients. In contrast, most printers produce one bit or two
levels per pixel.
Multi-bit or multilevel halftones technology produces less 'noise' in the
halftone, lower dot gain, and a higher screen frequency can be achieved.
Simitri Polymerized Toner
The magicolor 2450 features KONICA MINOLTA's Simitri polymer toner
technology which uses tiny, uniform-sized particles that are
encapsulated in a proprietary compound to improve fusing on most
media—even coarse, recycled paper. As a result, prints are more
durable, with images and text that don't smear or fade. It also yields
less waste, in the form of toner dust that remains on the surfaces of
drum cartridges, transfer belt units, and rollers after a page has printed.
This toner technology produces smoother halftones, finer lines, more
consistent colors, and crisper text—regardless of print quality selected
or media type used. Simitri Polymerized Toner is also more
environmentally friendly emitting less carbon acid gas (CO2), nitrogen
oxide (NOx) and sulfur oxide (Sox) during the production process.
