● Send help messages: Helps you send a quick notice of your approximate location and visual/auditory
surroundings to the mobile phone of the Emergency contact that you have created. Tap the power keys
3 times in a row to send an emergency message to your emergency contact: You should still make an
emergency call to the appropriate authorities if needed. Touch and move the Send help messages slider to
the right to turn it on. Agree to the terms and conditions and then alter the following additional options:
— Send pictures: Pictures taken by the front and rear cameras will be sent to your emergency contact when
an emergency has been declared (3 quick taps to the power button).
— Send sound recording: A sound recording will be sent to your emergency contact when an emergency
has been declared (3 quick taps to the power button).
● Manage primary contacts: Allows you to create or modify your emergency contact information.

Accessories

This menu allows you to modify your Dock, S View Cover, HDMI (Audio output) and Power Sharing settings.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
2. Tap Dock sound to play sounds when both inserting and removing your device from a docking station.
3. Tap Audio output mode to set your Audio output to Stereo or Surround.

Battery Usage

This option allows you to view a list of those components using battery power. The amount of time the battery
was used also displays. Battery usage displays in percentages per application.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
percentage.
2. From the upper-right tap
Refresh to update the list.

Tap an entry to view more detailed information.
Note: Other applications may be running that affect battery use.
3. Tap the Show battery percentage check box to have the battery percentage displayed on your battery
charge icon on your status bar.

Power Saving Mode

Power saving mode allows you to manage your device to conserve power.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
2. Make a selection, and in a single motion, touch and move the slider to the right to active the selected
power mode.
3. Tap Power saving mode, Activate the feature, and configure the available functions for this option:
● Restrict background data: Allows you extend battery life by restricting background data usage.
● Restrict performance: Conserves battery power by disabling various features, such as:
— CPU performance: Limits the maximum performance of the CPU.
— Screen output: Lowers the screen refresh rate and reduced brightness levels.
— Turn off touch key light: Deactivates the touch key light to conserve power.
— Turn off GPS Disables GPS and location services.

Tap Ultra power saving mode
:
Activates the ability for the device to extremely extend your battery life by
enabling additional power saving techniques.

SD Card & Device Storage
From this menu you can view the memory allocation for the memory card as well as mount or unmount the SD
card.
To view the memory allocation for your external SD card:
► From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
The available memory displays under the Total space and SD card headings.
Important! DO NOT remove a microSD card while the device is accessing or transferring files. Doing so will
result in loss or damage of data. Make sure your battery is fully charged before using the microSD
card. Your data may become damaged or lost if the battery runs out while you are using the
microSD card.
Mounting the SD Card
To store photos, music, videos, and other applications. You must mount (install) the SD card prior to use.
Mounting the SD card establishes a USB connection with your computer.
► From the Storage screen, tap Storage > Mount SD card.
Unmounting the SD card
Unmounting the SD card prevents corruption and damage to the SD card while removing it from the slot.
1. From the Storage screen, tap Storage > Unmount SD card > OK.
2. After the "SD card will be unmounted" message displays and the Mount SD card now appears in the menu
list, remove the SD card.
Erasing Files from the SD card
To erase files from the SD card using the device:
1. From the Storage screen, tap Storage > Mount SD card.
2. Tap Format SD card > Format SD card > Delete all to format the SD card. The SD card formats and erases
all the data stored on it.

Security

The Security settings allow you to determine the security level for your device.
► From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
Encrypt Device
When enabled, this feature requires a numeric PIN or password to decrypt your device each time you power it
on or encrypt the data on your SD card each time it is connected:
1. From the Security screen, tap Encrypt device. For more information, read the displayed help screen.
2. Tap Encrypt external SD card to enable the encryption on SD card data that requires a password be
entered each time the microSD card is connected.
Tip: Make sure your battery is charged more than 80 percent. Encryption may take an hour or more.
