Data Usage

Monitor and manage your device's data usage capabilities.
Features include activation/deactivation or network data usage, set mobile data usage for a set period of time,
and view application data usage.
► From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
To activate/deactivate Mobile data usage:
1. From the Data usage screen, tap the Mobile data field to activate the feature. A green check mark indicates the
feature is active.
2. Tap the Mobile data field again to deactivate the feature.
To set a mobile data limit:
1. From the Data usage screen, place a check mark in the Set mobile data limit field.
2. Read the onscreen disclaimer info and tap OK.
3. Touch and drag the far right ends of the Red or Orange horizontal lines to manually adjust both the
Warning and Maximum data limits.
4. Touch and drag the bottom grey vertical lines to adjust the time frames.
5. Tap the Data usage cycle button and select either the current cycle or define your own by selecting
Change cycle.
6. Tap
Menu and then select from the available on-screen options:
● Data roaming: Allows you to connect to your service provider's partner networks and access data services
when you are out of your service providers area of coverage.
● Restrict background data: Prevents background data usage. This can help prevent over usage of your data
minutes.
● Auto sync data: Allows the device to automatically sync information and updates with your various services.
● Show Wi-Fi usage: Activates an additional Wi-Fi tab that shows you your Wi-Fi data usage.
● Mobile hotspots: Allows you to select available Wi-Fi networks that can service as mobile hotspots. Place a
check mark on those entries you wish to use.

Location

The Location functions allows you to configure the device's location services, accuracy, and tag locations.
Important! The more location determining functions are enabled, the more accurate the determination will be of
your position.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
2. In a single motion touch and slide the Location slider to the right to turn it on.
3. The menu is separated into various sections:
● Mode: Allows you to choose a location mode. each mode enables different technologies and affects both
the accuracy of the location and battery usage.
● RECENT LOCATION REQUESTS: Displays services that have recently requested your location information.
● LOCATION SERVICES: Allows you to configure your Google locations services and add new ones.
— My places: Allows you to save your favorite locations in one place, categorize them, and then share your
location information as desired.

Location Method
Selecting a location mode can automatically configure your device to provide different levels of location
accuracy.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
2. Choose from either High accuracy, Power saving (blends accuracy with battery life), or GPS only.
Adding location services
The Location services area of the menu display those currently active locations services.
► From the Location screen, tap the LOCATION SERVICES field and follow the onscreen instructions to manage
a location application.
Enabling My Places
► From the Location screen, tap My places to enable the storage of your favorite locations.
● My places: Allows you to add location information for your Home, Work, and Car.

More Networks

This tab displays additional wireless and network information.

Default messaging app
With the available of several different messaging applications available from within the Play Store, it can be
difficult to choose a default messaging application for new outgoing messages. This feature allows you to
select a default messaging application.
To assign a default messaging application:
1. From the More networks page, tap the Default messaging app field.
2. Select from a list of currently available messaging applications.
Mobile networks
Before you use applications such as Google Maps and find your location or search for places of interest, you
must enable the Mobile networks options.
► From the More networks page, tap the Mobile networks field.
The following options display:
Use mobile data
Allows you to activate mobile data usage on your device.
1. From the Mobile networks page, tap the Mobile networks field.
2. Place a check mark in the Mobile data field to activate the feature.
Data Roaming
Data roaming allows you to connect to your service provider's partner networks and access data services
when you are out of your service providers area of coverage.
► From the Mobile networks page, tap Data roaming to connect to data services while roaming outside your
network.
– or –
Tap Data roaming again to remove the green check mark and deactivate the feature.
Settings >
Location > Mode.
Settings >
More networks.
