CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY
COMPONENTS
TYPES
OF
CONTROLS
There are four basic types of controls
used to determine the operating time of
Maytag dryers; they are Timer, Auto-
matic Control, Electronic Control and
Microprocessor.
Timer Control
These models utilize an electrical timer
which the user sets to the number of
minutes recommended in the operating
instructions or as experience indicates
necessary.
The timer knob and dial are attached to
the timer shaft. At the other end of the
shaft is a cam which controls both the
drying time and the cool-down.
With the timer set at 20 minutes as
shown in the drawing the circuit is com-
pleted through the timer to the drive
motor and heater circuit.
