battery or charger.
If the tw700 gets wet, make sure that the micro USB
socket is dry before you attach the battery charger and
charge the battery. Failure to do this can damage the
device.
Don't allow the contacts of the batteries to touch met-
al objects. This can cause short-circuits and cause the
battery to become very hot, swell up or catch fire.
Make sure that the battery and the tw700 are not
stored near to a source of heat or in direct sunlight.
Make sure that the temperature does not rise above
60°, e.g. on a windowsill or behind a glass sheet which
is directly in the sun or subject to strong UV light. This
can cause the battery or device to become damaged.
Be sure to keep the batteries away from children.

Getting the most from your battery

When you are using your tw700 for outdoor activities,
you probably don't need and probably will not be able
to use Wi-Fi. In this case, you can switch off Wi-Fi to
save battery power and prolong the charge (press
Menu and choose Settings » Wireless & Network » Wi-
Fi).
If you don't currently need GPS and/or a mobile data
connection, switching off these functions will also save

Since the display illumination is a big power user, you
should choose a screen timeout which is as short as
possible (Settings » Display). In addition, you should
choose the lowest screen brightness level which is
comfortable for you to use.

Track
navigation: This is when the takwak software
helps you to follow a previously recorded track by giv-
ing you text information and bearings which are dis-
played as an arrow. You are also given an audible
warning when you are off the track. Track navigation
is intended for use in outdoor activities but it is not
suitable for use in a car.
Dynamic
navigation: This is when the tw700 gives
you a compass bearing to reach a moving target such
as another member of your hiking group (Seek Mem-
ber command). The compass bearing is updated when
you or the other person moves.
Group
navigation: This is when you are navigating in
group mode (as a group). Group navigation is when
you or someone else has chosen the group command
Seek Member, Follow Me or Direct All.
