If a turn is coming up soon (calculated by software, a
sudden turn of more than 45 degrees to the left or
right):
A large green arrow is shown top right to warn
you of the impending turn. There are 7 differ-
ent arrows (left, sharp left, right etc.).
An optional audible warning (single gong) is
output.
In Settings » Navigation you can configure how
far in advance of each bend in the track the
warning should occur.
Finish track
navigation: To exit track navigation, tap
the round button at the bottom left of the map again.
To return to track navigation, simply tap the button
again.
 The warning gongs sound even if the display has
turned off (screen saver).

Group mode

The group features in takwak Outdoor let you link up
with friends or colleagues to carry out group activities
together. To take full advantage of this feature, all of
the group members need to have their own tw700.
The current location of all of the group members is
shown on the map on all participating devices. Infor-
mation such as device location and status is exchanged
using a special secure server at takwak. The informa-
takwak tw700 version 1.30
tion is only stored temporarily for the purpose of regu-
lating the active group and is anonymous. During
group formation, the server gets information on your
nickname, mobile phone number (if specified), avatar
and your device's ID number (IMEI, see glossary) but
has no information on your name or address.
Typical examples of the many group functions provid-
ed are Follow Me (other group members should follow
me) and Direct All - touch the map at a chosen desti-
nation and all group members will see the destination
marked on their maps and be asked to follow.
In Follow Me or Direct All mode, a navigation arrow
shows the compass bearing to the target. Press on the
cursor to see your estimated time and distance to the
target. This information is re-calculated and updated at
regular intervals.
Other commands are used to leave and re-join the
group, e.g. if someone doesn't want to follow you to
the summit or they want to take "time off" for a
snack.
Group instructions are sent to group members via a
GPRS data (internet) connection and are received as a
notification which is visible in the status bar of the de-
vice. The communication is optimized to minimize the
amount of data which is sent.
