The two yellow icons Track Beginning
End
mark the direction in which the track was orig-
inally recorded (as indicated by the time markers con-
tained in the track file). In the example, track beginning
is at the edge of the wood and track end is near the
center of the village. Check Track Back in Navigation
Settings if you want instead to follow the track from
the destination back to the starting out point (see
"Navigation Settings"
on page 35).
The group features of takwak Outdoor have extra
functions which make it very easy to exchange tours
and other information between members of the cur-
rently active group (see
"Share With Group"
page 59).

to use (Topographical, OpenStreetMap or Kompass).
takwak Outdoor already contains a worldwide OSM
base map at low resolution (see
page 96). In addition, you can download and install
without charge OSM map regions at high resolution
for any area of the world. They are loaded in a special,
highly efficient and fast format designed for embed-
ded devices. You can also purchase, download and in-
stall high resolution topographical map regions for
on
many European countries and USA national parks from
the Magic Maps map server. The topographical and
Kompass maps are derived from the official 1:50,000
survey maps for the respective countries.
 If you move to a map region which is not covered
by a purchased topographical map, the map window
will show a grey screen instead with the message Re-
gion Not Installed. In this case, choose Map and
choose OSM to switch to the OSM map (or the low res-
olution base map if the OSM map is not installed either
for that region). With the OSM base map, you may
need to zoom out to see any details.
