IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
tak en, including the following:
1 . R EAD AL L IN S TR U CTION S .
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. U se handles or k nobs.
3 . To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons, DO N OT
IMMER S E COR D, PL U G, OR POWER BAS E U N IT in water or other liq uids.
4 . Close superv ision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. U nplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or tak ing off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. R eturn appliance
to the nearest authoriz ed serv ice facility for ex amination, repair, or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Capresso may
result in fire, electric shock , or injury to persons.
8 . Do not use outdoors.
9 . Do not let the cord hang ov er the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
1 0 . Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated ov en.
1 1 . Always fill the k ettle first, then set the appliance onto the power base, and finally
plug cord into outlet. To disconnect, remov e k ettle from Power Base, then
remov e plug from wall outlet.
1 2. Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.
1 3 . Always mak e sure that lid is closed during operation. S calding may occur when
lid is open during operation.
1 4 . To av oid scalding, nev er fill pot abov e the " MAX " line mark ing on the k ettle.
1 5. Ex treme caution must be used when mov ing the k ettle containing hot water.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS

1 . A short power supply cord is prov ided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled
in or tripping ov er a long cord.
2. L onger ex tension cords are av ailable and may be used if care is ex ercised in
their use.
3 . If an ex tension cord is used,
a. the mark ed electrical rating of the ex tension cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
b. the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape ov er the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped ov er.
