The wattmeter should read between
4 0 0 a n d 5 1 0 w atts d e p e nd i n g on th e
mo d e l ( to t a l wa tta g e o f th e divid e r
he a t e r, t i m e r mo tor a n d de f ro st
h e a te r) . S h o u ld th e r ea d i ng be ' 1 0
watts the defrost heater or thermostat
i s d e f e ct i ve . T o fu rth e r i so late th e
defective part proceed to Step 4.

R e m o v e t h e d i v i d e r c h a n n e l m o u n t i n g
s c r e w s . C a r e f u l l y p u l l t h e c h a n n e l o u t
f r o m u n d e r t h e c e n t e r h i n g e .
Slide t he fr eezer bot tom out of the
c a b i n e t .
Remove the evaporat or cover . lt is
very im por tant that t his part be
reinst alled in the sam e manner as it
w a s o r i g i n a l l y .
Disconnect the radiant heater w ir e
leads.
R emove the heat er ret ainer cli p w ith
long nose pliers.
8 . P u l l t h e s h i e l d a n d t h e h e a t e r o u t .
9. I nstall the r eplacem ent heat er in the
r everse or der of r emoval.
N O T E : W h e n i n s t a l l i n g t h e r e p l a c e m e n t
heat er do not t ouch glass. Salt f rom fi nger
tips could cause damage.
REPLACING THE DEFROST
THERMOSTAT

located beside the evaporator on t he bac k,
l e f t h a n d s i d e .
1 . F o l l o w t h e f i r s t f i v e s t e p s i n r e p l a c i n g
t he heat er.
