T h e a i r b e i n g m o v e d i n e a c h d i r e c t i o n i s
d ep ending somewhat on t he sett ing of the
tr e ezer baf fle contr ol, For example: lf the
b a ffle contr ol is t urned to the closed pos i-
tion ( coldest) , a gr eat er volume of chilled
a ir will cir culate t hr oughout the tr eezer
com part ment. How ever , because the
sen sing element t hat cont rols t he com-
p r e ssor operation is located in t he refr i-
g er ator com par tm ent , the compr essor w ill
o pe rate f or a longer per iod of tim e, re-
sult ing in colder lreezer t emperat ures and
th e desir ed fr esh food compar tment t em-
p e r atur es. Conversely, if t he t reezer baffle
i s i n t h e o p e n p o s i t i o n , m o r e a i r w i l l f l o w
in to the ref riger ator compart ment, thus
s a t i s f y i n Q t h e s e n s i n g e l e m e n t s o o n e r a n d
r e d u c i n g t h e c o m p r e s s o r r u n t i m e c o n s i d -
e r a b l y . T h i s n a t u r a l l y r e s u l t s i n w a r m e r
fr e ezer t emperat ures.
Th e refr iger ator com part ment is cooled by
th e a ir passing t hrough t he fr eezer baffle
c o n t r o l a n d t h e n c i r c u l a t i n g t h r o u g h o u t t h e
r e frigerator compart ment. Retur n air fr om
t h i s c o m p a r t m e n t i s d r a w n t h r o u g h a n
o p e n i n g n e a r t h e b o t t o m , w h e r e i t a g a i n
p as ses through the evaporat or coil to star t
t h e c y c l e a g a i n .
