GO to Pinpoint Test H

If the safety belt and air bag warning indicators operate correctly,
INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to
this section. TEST the system for normal operation.
Instrument cluster
CONNECT the diagnostic tool. SELECT the instrument cluster warning lamps
and chime active command and trigger the chimes on.
If the chimes sound, the system is operating correctly at this time.
If the chimes do not sound, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER
to
operation.
Instrument cluster
CHECK the operation of the message center switches.
If the message center switches do not operate correctly,
Test
If the message center switches operate correctly, INSTALL a new
instrument cluster. REFER to
TEST the system for normal operation.
Normal Condition/Measurement
Less than 5 ohms between the oil pressure switch and the smart junction box (SJB). Greater than 10,000 ohms between the oil
pressure switch and ground.
Normal Condition/Measurement
Less than 5 ohms between the brake fluid switch and the smart junction box (SJB). Greater than 10,000 ohms between the brake
fluid level switch and ground.
Less than 5 ohms between the brake fluid level switch and the SJB.
Normal Condition/Measurement
0 volts, less than 5 ohms between the instrument cluster and ground.
Greater than 10 volts at all times, less than 5 ohms between the instrument cluster and the smart junction box (SJB). Greater
than 10,000 ohms between the instrument cluster and ground.

0 volts with the ignition key removed from the ignition lock cylinder, greater than 10 volts with the ignition key inserted into
