INSTRUCTIONS FOR HORIZONTAL VENTING AGAINST EXTERIOR WALL

Mendota recommends the use of Duravent 5"x8" coaxial pipes and fittings. Duravent components provide the
most flexibility since Duravent horizontal termination caps slide fully over the 6" or 9" straight pipe section
used. Using Amerivent pipes and components are limiting and will increase the minimum framing depth.
A 9" maximum horizontal pipe section is permitted when venting horizontally using the rear vent option
against an exterior flat wall. NOTE: We recommend always using the shortest run the installation will al-
low. This maximizes efficiency and flame appearance. This is especially true for LP gas installations and for
installations at higher altitudes. Use "fixed" pipe sections in place of adjustable pipe sections wherever possi-
