Selecting Preset Radio Stations

To select preset radio stations with the DCP501:

to tuner or press

the last radio station tuned
!
the band (AM or FM)
!
the preset number assigned to that station (if any)

PRESET
control to retrieve the desired preset number or directly enter the preset number using the
numeric buttons on the DCP501 remote control. Each preset station number is displayed
with its radio band and frequency.
S o u n d E f f e c t s
The DCP501 provides one of two modes of operation for Sounds Effects that are determined by
the serial number. DCP501 serial numbers are formatted as G19yyyDAxxx. DCP501s with
serial numbers where yyy is:
Higher than 216
216 or lower
An explanation of each version of audio operation is provided below.

DCP501 Sound Effects with Version 1 Operation

The DCP501 automatically selects a sound effect when possible, but this can be overridden. The
DCP501 stores the last audio mode used for a particular input
automatically selects that audio mode when you re-select that source. Normally,
reserved for video sources that contain the information required to decode the audio mode such
as a cable TV movie or a DVD. To select version 1 audio mode:

and the currently selected surround sound mode is displayed on the TV
and the DCP501 display. DCP501 audio modes include:
