Removal and Installation
The tools required for gas assist spring removal and
installation are listed in Table 5-4. Use manufactur-
er-recommended tools whenever possible.

1. Put the lap bar in the UP position to relieve ten-
sion on the lap bar gas assist spring.

2. Using a small screwdriver, remove the retaining
clip from each end of the gas assist spring.
