CONDITION: Key ON and transmission in neutral
Check ignition fuse and ECM fuse.
Are fuses OK?
YES
Attach Breakout Box (HD-42682) to
1
ECM. Check for 12 volts on ECM
connector [10] Pin 1 (+) and Pin 2 (-).
Voltage present?
NO
YES
Replace ECM. See
4.30 ELECTRONIC
CONTROL MODULE.
NO
Replace fuse(s)
as needed.
Check for continuity to
ground on [10] Pin 2.
Continuity present?
YES
Repair open.
Check for 12 volts
on ignition relay
Terminal 87 (GY).
Voltage present?
Check for continuity to
ground on ignition relay
NO
Terminal 85 (BK).
Continuity present?
YES
Repair open between
ECM and ignition relay.
Check for 12 volts
on ignition relay
Terminal 30 (GY/O).
Voltage present?
Check for 12 volts
on ignition relay
Terminal 86 (W/BK).
Voltage present?
Replace ignition relay.
NO
Repair open on GY/O
wire between connector
[22] and ignition relay.
Replace handlebar
switch assembly.
NO
Locate and repair open
NO on BK wire to ground
YES
YES
Repair open on
(GY/O) wire
between ignition
relay and fuse.
YES
Check for 12 volts
on right handlebar con-
nector [22A] GY/O wire.
Voltage present?
Check for 12 volts
on right handlebar con-
nector [22A] W/BK wire.
Voltage present?
YES

Repair open on W/BK
wire between connector
[22] and ignition relay.
