Braking and stopping while driving forward or reversing
If you release the forward/reverse lever slowly, the Fortress 1700 DT/TA will
brake and come to a stop.
While braking, the brake lights will automatically activate.
If you need to make a sudden stop while driving, you must release the
forward/reverse lever immediately.
In normal circumstances, you can release the forward/reverse lever slowly
when you want to stop.
As soon as the scooter is stopped, the automatic parking brake engages.
Remarks:
You can inspect the brakes by suddenly releasing the forward/reverse lever.
When driving at a high speed, you need to be extra careful,
especially on sidewalks and in pedestrian areas. In that case, it is
advisable to set a lower maximum speed using the speed control
knob.
Do not cross a street until you are able to handle the scooter and its
