Using the Embedded Web Server

If an HAFM appliance is not available, or is not used to manage the switch, use the Embedded
Web Server (EWS) interface to configure the Edge Switch 2/24. Selectively perform the following
configuration tasks according to your installation requirements:
• Configure switch
• Configure switch and fabric
• Configure network
• Configure SNMP trap message
• Enable or disable the
• Configure user
NOTE:
This chapter describes the initial setup of the Edge Switch 2/24 using the EWS interface.
For additional information on configuring more advanced features using EWS, see the online EWS
help or the HP StorageWorks Embedded Web Server user guide.

Accessing the Embedded Web Server

A PC platform with LAN access and standard web browser running Netscape Navigator 4.6 or
later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later is required.
To open the Embedded Web Server interface:
1.
Ensure that the browser-capable PC and the Ethernet LAN segment (with the switch attached) are
connected.
2.
At the PC, launch the browser application (Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer).
3.
At the browser, enter the IP address of the switch as the Internet uniform resource locator (URL).
Use the default IP address of 10.1.1.10, the factory preset of 10.1.1.10, or the IP address
configured while performing
