• Today's Fusion is Ford Motor Company's first "fully digital"
car. It was completely designed, engineered and tested for
manufacture in a digital environment, using the most
advanced design tools available
• By drawing on these new tools and the company's global
product development resources — including a flexible new
midsize architecture and two global engines — Fusion's
engineering team was able to bring Fusion to market faster
than traditional vehicle development programs
• Before any Fusion was built in an assembly plant, the entire
vehicle had been built in a virtual factory. That process
identified many ways to do it better, substantially reducing
the time and cost normally incurred during a typical
vehicle's development. At the same time, Fusion quality and
durability went up and environmental impacts went down
