Care and Maintenance

Service
Regular servicing by a Sartorius
technician will extend the service
life of your scale and ensure its
continued weighing accuracy.
Sartorius can offer you service
contracts, with your choice of regular
maintenance intervals ranging from
1 month to 2 years.
Repairs
Repair work must be performed by
trained service technicians only.
Any attempt by untrained persons to
perform repairs may result in hazards
for the user.
Cleaning
! Make sure that no dust or liquid
enters the scale housing
! Do not use any aggressive
cleaning agents (solvents or
similar agents)
Disconnect from AC power:
unplug the AC adapter from the
wall outlet (mains supply)
If connected, unplug an interface
or adapter cable from the scale
Carefully remove any sample
residue/spilled powder by using
a brush or a hand-held vacuum
cleaner
Clean the scale using a piece of
cloth wet with a detergent
After cleaning, wipe down the
scale with a soft cloth

Replacing the Dust Cover
> Replace damaged dust covers
For the FB06BBE-S
Remove the following compo-
nents from the scale:
– Draft shield cover
– Glass cylinder
– Load plate
– Load plate support
– Turn the shield ring clockwise
and remove
– Old dust cover
Place the new dust cover on the
scale and press down on the
front and back along the edges
until the cover is firmly seated
Place the shield disk on the scale
and turn it counterclockwise
Place all remaining parts back
on the scale in the reverse order
(see above)
For Scales FB6CCE-H, FB2CCE-S,
FB12CCE-S, FB6CCE-S, FB12CCE-I
Remove the following parts from
the scale:
– Load plate
– Load plate shield (depending on
the type of model)
– Remove the old dust cover
Place the new dust cover over
the scale (peel off the backing
from the adhesive area)
Place all remaining parts back
on the scale in the reverse order
(see above)
! The dust cover must not touch
the load plate
Safety Inspection
If there is any indication that safe
operation of the scale with the AC
adapter is no longer warranted:
Disconnect from AC power:
unplug the AC adapter from the
wall outlet (mains supply)
> Lock scale in a secure place to
prevent it from further usage
Safe operation of the scale with
the AC adapter is no longer ensured
when
– there is visible damage to the
AC adapter
– the AC adapter no longer
functions properly
– the AC adapter has been stored
for a relatively long period under
unfavorable conditions
In this case, notify your nearest
Sartorius Service Center or service
technician. Maintenance and repair
work may only be performed by
authorized Sartorius service
technicians who
– have access to the required
service and maintenance manu-
als
– have attended the relevant
service training courses
