HDD SELF TEST

HDD SELF TEST
Before using the HDD attached to this unit, test the HDD whether to be used correctly. There are 3 types of the test
method and choose one in the <HDD SELF TEST> screen. When choosing, refer to the table below which describes the
details of each method.
When the HDD is newly attached for recording, it is recommended to execute "READ/WRITE TEST" and
format all the area of the HDD before it is used for recording. Be sure that all the data in the HDD will be erased
when executing "READ/WRITE TEST."

The recorded contents will not be affected when executing "QUICK TEST" or "READ TEST." When executing
"READ/WRITE TEST," be sure that all the recorded contents of both HDD (A and B) will be erased. When you
execute "READ/WRITE TEST," attach one HDD to be tested and remove the other HDD with the contents you do
not want to erase.
This function temporarily tests the HDD whether it will be used correctly, and not completely criticize the defect
involved in the HDD.

Contents of the test
The reading and writing test executed in
the part of the HDD. The recorded
contents will not be affected by this test.
The reading test executed in all the
sectors in the HDD. The recorded
contents will not be affected by this test.
The reading and writing test executed in
all the sectors in the HDD. All the recorded
contents will be erased. The HDD will be
formatted to record or playback the data
stably.
Effect of the test
Tests the compatibility beween the HDD
and the recorder.
In addition to the compatiblity test, criticizes
the partial sector defects in reading the
data.
