Press the STORE/ENT key.
You will see a display similar to the following:

Use the JOG/SHUTTLE control or the numeric keypad to specify the length of the in-
sert.
The insert time is shown on the time display.

Use the TRACK REC(INPUT SELECT) keys (and the 9-16 key, if necessary) to select the
insert tracks.

Press the STORE/ENT key to execute the insert.
When the DR16pro has completed the insert operation, the message "D O N E" will momen-
tarily appear on the display. The LED beside the EDIT key will switch off and the previous
mode will be restored.

Erase

The erase function allows you to remove a section of audio from a track, but maintain the time gap.
You could use it to delete an unwanted breath from a vocal track or a bad note from the keyboard
track — where the erased track must stay in sync with other recorded material. The following
diagram illustrates the erase procedure:

Set the "in" and "out" points to define the section to be erased.
See "Specifying the "in" Point and "out" Point" on page 26.

Press the EDIT key to enter Edit Mode.
The EDIT indicator will light up
