corrective actions.
Problem
No power
Data on the LCD is unreadable
Battery power does not last long
System halts during boot sequence

Corrective Action
Check that the AC adapter is plugged into the
power connector of the system. Also, check that
the AC adapter is plugged into a properly
grounded AC power outlet.
If using the battery as the main power source,
check if the battery pack is charged and is
inserted correctly.
Replace the main board.
Check the LCD Panel View Expansion in BIOS.
Check if the installed VGA driver is correct.
Check the VGA controller chip for any loose
soldering.
Replace the main board.
Make sure that the power management features
are enabled.
Fully charge and discharge the battery pack
several times to recondition it.
Replace the battery pack.
Check the condition of the selected boot device
(diskette, hard disk or CD-ROM) for bad boot
track or incorrect O/S files.
Try booting from a new bootable diskette and
recopy or repartition the hard disk.
Check for any BIOS error messages on the
display screen.
Replace the main board.
Check the connections of all internal and external
devices.
Replace the main board.
Check that the diskette type is correct and not
faulty.
Replace the diskette drive.
Replace the main board.
