A
AC adapter An accessory device that allows you to power your phone and charge any attached
batteries from a wall outlet.
accessory connector port A socket on the bottom of the phone where you can attach accessories
such as an AC adapter, battery charger, vehicle power adapter, or optional accessories.
add digits You add digits to the end of a number. See also: attach number .
air-time The amount of time you spend using a wireless system. Especially, the time between
successfully placing a call and terminating a call.
alarm You can set alarms to notify you about appointments in your datebook. Alarms activate your
selected reminder. See also: reminders .
alert Generic term for a ring or VibraCall® vibration that tells you when incoming calls or other events
happen on your phone. You can assign different alerts for different events.
All Calls timer The total amount of time you spent on all calls (dialed and received) since the last time
you reset this timer. Also see timer.
Analog Only mode Network setup mode that places calls only on analog channels.
animation The movement of the cursor and animated graphics on the phone display. You can turn
animation off.
antenna The device attached to your phone that sends and receives wireless signals.
attach number You attach a number from the phonebook or recent calls list to prefix digits that you
entered in the idle display. See also: add digits .
auto answer When you activate this feature, your phone automatically answers after two rings.
automatic handsfree Routes the phone's sound to an attached speakerphone. You can use this with
the auto-answer feature for hands-free phone use in your car.
automatic redial When your wireless network cannot handle your call, this feature enables your
phone to automatically redial for the next four minutes.
auto-PIN A feature that lets you send your PIN (Personal Identification Number) with the press of a
button whenever required.

backlight The amount of light behind the characters on your display. You can adjust this setting.
banner The text message your phone displays when it is in the idle state.
battery charge conservation Some networks and phones include a battery save setting to conserve
battery power. You can toggle this setting on or off.
