Control with HDMI
function
Linked operation is possible by connecting
the unit to a TV that supports the Control with
HDMI function.
The following linked operations are possible
by connecting the unit using an HDMI cable
to a TV that supports the Control with HDMI
function.
• Theater mode
Volume adjustment and muting of the unit
from the TV
• Linking power with TV

• Automatic input switching
Automatic input switching of the unit based
on switching of the TV input
• Auto select function
TV automatic input switching based on input
switching of the unit
Note
• On certain Pioneer TVs, the Control with HDMI
function appears as "KURO LINK".
• Linked operation cannot be guaranteed for TVs
other than Pioneer TVs that support the Control
with HDMI function.
• To use the Control with HDMI function, connect
a High Speed HDMI
HDMI function may not work properly with other
types of HDMI cables.
• For the specific operation and setup procedures,
see also the operating instructions for your TV.

Connecting to a TV that
supports the Control
with HDMI function
A TV that supports the Control with HDMI
function can be connected to the unit for
enabling linked operation. Connect using
®
a High Speed HDMI
/™ cable. For the
connection procedure, see "Connecting to
Your TV" (page 19). When the connection is
completed, perform the procedure in "Setting
the Control with HDMI function" (page 44).
If your TV supports ARC (Audio Return
Channel), audio from the TV can be input to
the unit over the HDMI cable. If your TV is not
compatible with ARC, set [TV Input] to [Optical
IN-1] and connect a separate optical digital
audio cable (page 44).
Note
• To ensure maximum performance of the Control
with HDMI function of the unit, connect the TV that
supports the Control with HDMI function directly to
the unit.
• The audio of the unit may be interrupted by
operation of the TV or another connected device.
Setting the Control with
HDMI function
This shows how to set the Control with HDMI
function of the unit. If connecting to a TV that
supports the Control with HDMI function and
ARC, the settings of the unit do not need to be
changed.
• Besides the settings for the unit, settings
are also required for the TV supporting
the Control with HDMI function that is
connected to the unit. For details, see the
operating instructions for your TV.
1. Press SETUP while stopped.
The Initial Setup screen is displayed.
2. Use /b to select [HDMI], and press
ENTER.
